Living the Gifts of Christmas – “Be Still”

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10.

Sometimes the hardest thing for me to do is be still.P1010695

My mind races. My thoughts wander.

It’s so hard to just rest.

To hear God’s voice and respond.

But He commands us to do this.P1020359

From Exodus to Psalm and then Zechariah to the gospels.

Jesus commands the wind.

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Mark 4:39

The psalmist encourages us.

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7

Be still. Let God in. Hear His voice.

He waits.64777_10200834413613320_1029837592_n
